It simply doesn't work. I tried it testerday for the first time trying to communicate with my carrier answering machine service, but... no keys seem to respond. Impossible to listen to recorded messages, then. What is the problem?

All the system/switchboard that you call that have this function uses the same DTMF tones. It does not change from system to system. If it work's fine for all the other functions were you need to use it, I cannot say that it's a problem with the phone. And there are no settings for this in the phone itself.
If you think the problem is in the phone, I can only suggest that you perform a software repair on your phone via PC Companion:
http://support.sonymobile.com/global-en/tools/pc-companion/
In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.
Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.
Hi,
Do you have the possibility to try another SIM-card? Perhaps a SIM-card from another operator to exclude problems related to current network.
In fact the numeric keypad works perfectly not only with the other simcard, but also within other calls of my simcard. It just doesn't work with the answering machine service of my operator (Telecom Italia). I called them, and they say it is a device bug and there is anything they can do.
To me it does not sound like a fault in your device. If this was a bug in the device, it would affect all the switchboards that you call and where you need to use the number pad. If it's just the answering machine for your operator it doesn't work at, it sounds more like a fault for their switchboard.
Telecom assistance made a reset of my telephone line, but the problem is still here. Numeric keypad doesn't produce any tone when I call the answering machine service of my provider. It works normally in any other condition. Any suggestion?
Telecom Italia still says it is a device bug.
