Unable to use fingerprint authentication with application

The fingerprint manager is working properly, but I am not able to activate fingerprint for all other applications (KeepassDroid, banking application, Twin, etc.).

When I want to enable the feature on all these apps, I have an error message. I can not imagine that the problem is due to all these applications!

How can I solve that ?

Hi @jlpicard, let me see if I can help out here.

There is no setting in the phone that you are supposed to activate in order to be able to use the fingerprint for third party apps such as banking apps and so on.

I am however a bit curious about the error message that you receive when you try to activate the the fingerprint feature, what exactly does the error message say and does the message contain any kind of error code? Also, have you been in contact with the app manufacturer in order to see if they have a solution to this?

Please return with this information and I will do my best to assist you!

Hello Martin,

Thank you for your reply.
Depending on the application, I receive the following error messages:
1) Failed to encrypt data. This can happen if you add or remove fingerprints in the system settings while KeePass2Android is listening for your fingerprint.
2) An error occured.
3) When activating the fingerprint option on an application, I have a system pop-up 'Please confirme with the fingerprint in order to continue', then 'Fingerprint recognized' when I put my finger. Right after the application say "Fingerprint not recognized. Please try again"

Another bank application just disables the fingerprint option right after I have enrolled a finger.

Thank you @jlpicard for the quick reply!

Looking at these error messages they do not seem to come from the system but rather from the apps. The primary thing that I would advise you to do is to register your fingerprint again, you can have a total of five fingerprints registered and if the same finger is registered more than one time, the accuracy of the fingerprint reader increases. If that do not work, try removing all registered fingerprints and adding them again.

If none of these measures manages to get the fingerprint to work for third party apps, I believe that the best thing to do is to repair the software using Xperia companion and a computer. Keep in mind though that a software repair will erase all user data from the phone, so make sure that your data is backed up to your google account before the repair.

Let me know if that helped!
