PRS reader downloading questions

Hello

I have had this reader since christmas and had a computer literate person to help set it up for me!

I seem to have problems when downloading - I use my waterstone's card -

I go to the library section on the laptop and I have 2 copies of Cosa Notra, The Thief x 4, Strangers on the 16.02 x 5 etc etc

Can I delete any of these? I know I have to keep one? Why is it showing multiples? Am I clicking buttons too many times or putting things where I shouldnt?

Also I have not been able to obtain all of my free books - could you please tell me how to get them all and where? Some are showing the book with the little purple cog on it, but it is downloaded onto my ereader?

I have 56 books on the ereader but I have bought 21 of those

I am sorry to bombard you with so many questions I hope you can help me

thank you

Brandie

Sorry - so  you've bought all these multiples from Waterstones ? I'm slightly confused, but if you have, get onto them and ask them to check your account and cancel the extras.

But yes, as long as you keep one download of each that's all you need.

As far as the free classics etc.. are concerned - I don't think anyone has ever had 100  ! I got about 50-60, and they are all books you can get free anyway from the major free ebook libraries.

And make sure you have checked all the places they might be on your computer - mine were in 3 different places ! (My Doc's, My Pics, d/loads etc...)

Perhaps someone has the full 100, but most Forumites seem to be short-changed !

Hi Brandie

I've got more than one copy of a couple of my downloads too - also from Waterstones. No idea how it's happened, but I've only paid for one of each.

Wait until you try loadinng the software onto a new pc or laptop - that's when the fun really begins  😉

Hi Brandie,

Regards deleting extra copies - no problem as long, as you say yourself, you keep one copy of course.

Difficult to say how you ended up with more than one copy of some of your books from Waterstones.  However the best advice I can give, is that when you get to the point of pressing the 'Download' button on their website, you are normally presented with a box asking you whether you would like to 'open' or 'save' the file.  Always select 'open' and a single copy will automatically be transferred (pretty much instantaneously) into the Library section of the Reader Library software if you have a look.

It is possible to 'open' the file more than once on the same computer (without paying again), for example if you weren't sure whether you had downloaded successfully, so that might be an explanation for multiple copies?

Hope this helps.
