Hi All,
I have had a PRS-505 for around 3 years now and as sad as it sounds it's my life !!!!
but, the last couple of months it has gradually started to die on me. It now either freezes when turning it on or just freezes on a page and when it does work can take upto 10 seconds to turn a page. Does anyone know if this is natural ? i.e. they are only designed to last a few years ??? I do use it virtually every day .....
when it first started to play up I was given the confiruration details by Sony which didn't help much I have done this again and deleted all but four books from the memory but still no joy
help .....

Hi Imhiggins,
It does sound like it's possible you may have to get your PRS-505 checked out, but there are a couple of things that may be worth trying. I still have a 505, and the only time I've experienced anything similar to what you are describing is when the battery became really flat. The best thing I ever did was buy the mains charger for it, as I found this to be quicker, and certainly more effective at regaining a full charge (and normal operation) if it had become completely exhausted.
It might also be worth trying a soft or a hard reset if the above doesn't work - the instructions on how to this are on Sony's support website .... just make sure you have copies of all your books on your computer though as a hard reset will erase all the content.
Hope you resolve the problem; it's awful when something you use a lot plays up!
