Help with downloading e-books correctly on prs-300

Bought PRS-300 and am having problems downloading books. Purchased one to try and although I can view it on pc, and title is showing on reader, i just comes up as 'protected page' when I try to actually read it. Purchased another book this morning to try again and I appear to have completely lost it somewhere along the way! Any simple instructions or advice on where I am going wrong would be much appreciated.

I found quite a useful step by step guide on one of the Sony support websites that may help.

Type prs300 in the search box at the top, and you should get a list of results that includes a PDF file called 'Reader PRS-300: Getting Started Guide'.  Sections 5 & 6 are probably going to be the most relevant, but it might be worth a quick scan through the earlier bits just to make sure you have everything set up correctly.
