I love my ereader, it gets used everyday. It now has its own case, still I dont like having smudges etc but im not sure what to clean it with. Would something like a LCD screen cleaner do the job or perhaps a damp cloth?
Any ideas??

I'd think any micro-fibre cloth would be ok - as long as it's not impregnated with anything.
Micro-fibre clothes are primarily designed , and work most efficiently, with nothing on, except damp or water if needed.
They are good for dust removal, but are excellent at removing grease without the use of solvents etc.., like kitchen hobs, due to the construction of the fibres and weave. Should be fine for greasy finger marks on a Reader !
So you're probably using the best thing as is.
I think Sony would say don't use any cleaning agent at all.
Their comments/advice would be helpful ?
I don't know what you're supposed to use, but I just sort of polish mine with one of those microfibre cloths that's designed for glass. I'd be scared of putting anything on it, but I'm sure there must be something designed for the job.

HI All,
On cleaning
Clean the Reader™ with a soft cloth, such as a cleaning cloth for eyeglasses.
If the Reader™ becomes very dirty, clean it with a soft cloth slightly
water or a mild detergent solution.
Do not use any type of abrasive pad, scouring powder, or solvent,
or benzene, as it may mar the finish of the case.
In order not to get wet to the water, paying attention.
Tapping or dragging on the touch screen using a dirty stylus may
surface. Wipe the stylus with a dry cloth when it gets dirty
