can i use kindle ebooks on my sony reader

I am new to sony eader and want to start downloading a few books.  Can I use the kindle ebooks on my reader?  ANy advice would be good.

No, the two formats are not compatible.

Or there are several legal free eBook websites.  Have a look here and use the ePUB format: -
