Automized syncronization between internal memory and SD-Card

Hi,

an other question:

always when I try to load an new book on the device, Reader Library synconizes the internal memory and the sd-Card automatically, so that every book is on the reader twice. That makes no sence.

I have not found yet a funktionality on the device or in the libray to stop this.

Who has an idea on this topic?

I have suffered the same inconvenience and frustration for the last 10 months - its a pain in the bum.  I also cannot delete from the pc (reader) as it says I have already synched with the reader.

I have finally worked out how to delete from the actual reader (I found that mark means the bookmark).

Sony should get their act together.  I have no idea why they make their instructions so vague and confusing.

Hi Michael,

Personally I tend to prefer using drag and drop to transfer a new eBook to my Reader - that way I get to completely control what, when and where I transfer rather than automatically syncing - but that's just me.  That said, I would suggest trying the following to resolve your problem:

Connect your Reader (with your SD card inside it) to your computer.

Open the Reader Library software and have a look down the menu on the left-hand side.  I actually see two icons for my Reader towards the bottom of the list: because I use a Memory Stick rather than an SD card, I see one icon for 'Reader' (the device itself), and another for 'Memory Stick on Reader'.  (I guess yours will say something like 'SD Card on Reader').

To the left of each icon is a small grey triangular arrow.  Clicking on this once each time switches between displaying or hiding the sub-menu items.  The last item in the sub-menu for both 'Reader' and 'SD Card on Reader' is 'Sync'.  If you click on this it will show you what your computer will synchronise from Reader Library to the Reader itself or the memory card in the Reader.  So, for example if you only want your new eBooks to go onto the Reader's internal memory make sure the appropriate folders for books are ticked in 'Sync' under 'Reader', and similarly in the 'Sync' screen under 'SD Card on Reader' make sure that all the boxes are un-ticked.
