Hi all,
just noticed that there are a selection of 20p books available within the Sony Reader store..
If you wish to check out the titles on offer click on the following link - 20p ebooks
It's a start
But, I hate to say this, a bit clever for it's own good ?
Why on earth not ..."Free" ?
I presume a marketing guru has said it is better to put a price on, makes them seem worth something, & stand out from all the common freebies on offer all over the place, but ........... well, I don't know, seems a bit silly & gimmicky somehow. Even a bit "clearance" sounding, unlike free, which smacks of a summink fer nowt, at least !:smileywink:
And one taken at random, Eye of the Needle, I found elsewhere at .20p, 99p [x3] and a quid.
So not that great an "offer", I'm afraid to say.
And only 11 at the "special" price of 20p ...................
There's an awful lot of cut-throat competition out there, with very good content, and while - it seems to me - the T1 is rightly gaining popularity, I think the store must try harder if it's to catch up.
Because some a lot of the low-price or free stuff is high quality, modern classic standard.
A quick look at Smashwords, Waterstones, Inkmesh, MobileRead, Kobo et al, will serve to demonstrate what they're up against..... and that's without Gutenburg, the ereader flagship free Pub Dom source !
I hope there are books available where you can feel that you have really saved a lot once your 20p has been used.
Not many of them though are there?

Not counted how many in total there are but a quick look it would seem that you can get at least ten eBooks for a only a £2 spend..
