Is it OK to expect Android Oreo on 2017 Sony Android TVs?
Be also aware I'm talking about an A1 Oled panel, do not know how other panel works

I set the black level on hdr10 pattern (no Dolby pattern available as far as I know) and indeed on Jack Ryan the darker detail are better. The overall image is darker than sdr images but this is what I think the producer made
Yeh, Sabrina in HDR10 (on the XE or the PS4 Pro is fine). Its just very dark with Dolby Vision on the XG. Its quite bizare there is no way to actually disable DV in the menu and resorting to HDR10 without switching device or downgrading your Netflix plan.....
Believe me, Sabrina would be dark on your A1 too.

It could be, but as I said before it could depend heavely on the source. I'm a fan of GOT adn even if it was in SDR 1080p it was unwatchable, slightly better with the new encoding delivered by sky after all the complains..

@rooobb wrote:You can adjust the gamma and/or the black level. Better do it via pattern support in order not to wash out the overall image. Actually I set the gamma level to zero and black adjust to 51/52, but it depends strictly on your set and panel technology
I think with gamma at zero and black adjust to 52 Sabrina on Netflix with DV would be very dark for you too on a Sony TV.
Please correct me if I am wrong, but upon HDR detection Brightness is already set to Max, Gamma already to 0 and X-tended Dynamic range to High.

Not sure what you are asking me? My post is a statement "with gamma at zero and black adjust set to 52".
Nothing in that statement is in conflict to what you are saying? Black adjust can be altered in HDR mode, it will just wash the picture out if taken high.
No question. Just stating that with HDR detected the values below are automatically set to:
Brightness: Max
Gamma: 0
X-tended Dynamic Range: High
So my point is that gamma is already to 0.
rooobb you work on sony? absolutely disgusting update 6.6510
