Xperia 1 camera reading QR Codes

Hi can anyone advise me how to get my Xperia 1 camera to read QR codes without having to use a QR app like my Xperia xz1 was able to?

I suggest that you use Google Lens.

It has many more features.

Of course there are a lot of these kind of apps, many of those have all kind of advertising or asking access to things those don't need to have access to.

Lens is part of Google.

Google already knows all about you, so you don't have to worry about your privacy.

Thanks Strampke Lens is what I had on my XZ1 but as an icon or switch in my camera app so when a website wants me to scan a QR code it opens my camera and all I use to do was touch the Lens icon and it would switch to scan but I can't get the Xperia 1 do that, the icon doesn't show in the camera app and I was hoping it would

With the basic camera, simply pointing the camera at an in focus QR code should result in a notification asking you if you wish to go to the site or result of the QR code.

There has to be Google lens option for that installed on the camera, it it's not installed, you can just download it from Google Play store.
