I just got this phone last week, and for the most part the camera was working fine. However, one day I tried to use the camera and this popped up. I tried clearing the app data and restarting but to no avail. Any advice?

I see, that does seem strange, as the message states that it is being remotely restricted which means that this restriction has been added by another source.
Have you installed any new applications on the device?

Thanks for the quick reply. I don't think that is the problem though, I am not connected to any corporate accounts, neither have I entered any camera restricted areas of any sort.

I have a question regarding "restrictions" on camera.
If I use 3rd party apps, say vscocam for example, with my Xperia Z1 compact. Is it possible, when it (vscocam) takes a photo, to use the settings I defined in "manual mode" (ISO-100, 20,7MP, ...) ? Or would it only use settings defined in "auto mode" (8MP, ISO-auto...) ?
Thank you in advance.
