Adreno 430 supports Vulkan API (this was stated by Qualcomm in February 2016).

And you know what Sony? Grab your phones and stick in in your butt, you are lack of updates, answers, good phones and basicaly...you worth nothing by the time the Sony Ericcsons end, you screw it up so I and most of your customers will only sit down and watch how your mobile division goes down.

Again, it's not Sony, it's qualcomm who hasn't releases the drivers for the adreno 4 series.

So there is an XDA article for enabling Vulkan on the SD810 for Xperias.

Please do tell how qualcomm hasn't released the drivers for Nexus 6p as well...

A port is hardly an officially supported driver.

I don't think it's a port, just updated GPU drivers for the 430 and 530 adreno. But okay.

Viridis, does sony pay you for defending it? It has No defense. Sony could ask for drivers like Google did for nexus, no more twists needed.
There are some "methods" to achieve this, like:
- Hey qualcomm, give us vulkan drivers fir z5 family.
- No!
- OK! No more qualcomm chipsets in our phones.

Or... We paid PREMIUM price for thus phone, why not spend some money to make the drivers available???

BTW, Sony proudly says that they work with Google, they integrate now launcher, the make most "pure" branded android, they fix bugs fir them... Why Dont give us vulkan drivers?
Because their bussines policy. You want this or that feature??? Sell your 6 month "old" ultra expensive phone, and buy a brand new one with the features you want.

But it's not just Sony, is it. I don't defend HTC, Xiaomi, Huawei but their users too, are left in cold because of this.

EIther way you guys are not understanding it correctly or you just can understand whats happening here. SONY AINT THE PROBLEM. They do know that Z5 hardware n fact do support Vulcan API that WHY you still getting the Nougate Update. The problem is that Qualcomm doesnt seem to be interested to do drivers that is needed to get it to work. And as some people allready tried to inform you guys of, its not only SONY as a company who has this problem with qualcomm. I mean how do you people now that SONY hasnt asked for the drivers. Of course they asked for those drivers. But Qualcomm is one of the biggest and they dont have to play buy the whistle of Sony who is in a sense much smaller company that it once was. Maybe Sony should skip Qualcomm all together and try to go back to ST Ericsson plattforms and try to do their own. But again. Sony do what they can, and they manage to at lest give you the nougat despite it dont have this API.
