Transferring Xperia Z backup to Z1 Compact

Hi. Maybe a dumb question, but I can't find an answer.

How do I use a complete backup from my crushed Xperia Z to setup my new Xperia Z1 Compact?

Could you please elaborate? Have you done a backup on your Sony Xperia Z? If yes, where did you perform this backup? Was it via PC or an app directly in the phone? Which program/app did you use?

I luckily did a complete backup of the Z on PC, with Sony PC Companion, right before the phone was crushed.

You should be able to migrate/restore this backup to your Xperia Z1 Compact with PC Companion too. Connect your Z1 Compact to your PC > Go to the Backup & Restore function > Here you should be able to mark the backup and choose "Migrate" or "Restore".

Thank you again. I just had to copy the old backup file from the Z into the folder where the program was searching and it worked. The program didn't prompt to search anything. It just didn't show up as an option to restore, only back up. Thanks!
