sony xperia z1 upgrade android 4.3

I am using Sony xperia Z1 smart phone. Now my mobile is running on Android 4.2 but I am interested to update my smart phone with Android 4.3. When I contact net on my smart phone it is not showing me any update. But when I contact my phone to my PC on sony PC companion 2.1 it showing a message updated your phone with Android 4.3. If I go with that it taking 8 hours time to update. Please tell me the reason why I can’t updated directly on my mobile itself.

Its a major Android update, you need to use a PC or a Mac

for me,,after im update to 4.3 my Z1...my phone keep crashing,,etc,,if i select movie,,the screen when black,,,and movie is not responding,,same to some app,,,reseting my sony z1 few times,,but still,,,problem???

Do a full data wipe after update. Or factory reset

I had the very same problem it was driving me mad! i almost smashed the phone i could no longer cope! anyway this worked for me! start the phone in safe mode. ~To do this press and hold the power button until the power off option pops up. then hold the power off until safe mode pops up. Then start in safe mode. this brought my phone back to normal so i will be keeping it in safe mode until they fix this!
