Bluetooth driver missing on Windows Vista also..

Xperia Z bluetooth functioned beautifully while on android 4.2.2 but after the 4.3 update, I'm constantly asked for DRIVER software for Windows Vista.

Yes, I believe you are correct. It's caused by the change on Windows of the Broadcomm Bluetooth radio software. I am simply trying to get back to 2-way sharing of MP3 audios and .jpg images between the 2007 Windows Vista and the 2013 Xperia Z C6603 mobile on Android 4.3  -- Of course, I ought to test my Xperia Z with OTHER devices / systems!!  Yes...simple test.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

The bluetooth software in Windows Vista does not support all the bluetooth profiles that the phone has and it will ask for drivers for these profiles. You can just ignore this and you will still be able to for example send and receive files over bluetooth.

Thanks support; however, it was working perfectly doing many remote-control type functions... then Android went to 4.3 and Broadcomm added 133 MB of software, and the bluetooth exchanges stopped. I tried rolling back the Broadcomm driver - no good  - then updated it again, then rebooted, but Bluetooth is not working as the VISTA laptop can't 'see' the Xperia Z  (even though they were PAIRED before...and say they're 'paired')

The phone still supports the same bluetooth profiles so i suspect this has to do with the update you made to the computers bluetooth software and drivers. What is it that you're trying to do?

Not sure if Broadcomms software looks/behaves differently then the one in Windows but when using Windows own bluetooth support you can right click a file on your computer and select Send to -> Bluetooth device -> [your phone].

If you want to send a file to the computer you need to right click the bluetooth icon in the system tray and select the option to receive a file first.

If you don't have these options i would recommend that you check with Broadcomm where these options are located in their software or you could try the rollback feature in Windows to roll the entire system back to before you installed the software.

You could also try using a 3:rd party software that can connect to the phone using bluetooth like MyPhoneExplorer from www.fjsoft.at.
