Battery stays charged at 50%

Hello,

I have an Xperia Z3 d6603 and it keeps showing that it is charged on 50% all the time. On rare occasions, it flashes the correct percentage of the battery, but after couple of seconds it shows 50% again. This happened 2 days ago and no actual changes have been made. I did not install any new apps and the last Android update was in December.

I have tried:

1. Reboot

2. Recharge

3. Take out the SD card

4. Check for updates

5. System Reset

6. Run the PC Companion Repair tool

None of the above worked. It still shows 50% charged. When I connect the charger, it rarely indicates that it is actually charging. Most of the time, it just stays at 50% without the sign for charging. It is getting on my nerves but I wanted to ask if anyone had a similar issue.. I do not have a tech that I trust (really bad experience in the past) so I decided it won't hurt to ask here first.

@uliwooly just tried that, it stays at 50% in safe mode as well. Any other ideas?

what happened after you repaired the phone with PCC?

It said the repair finished successfully and I can turn my phone back on. When I did, it still said 50% charged. I try to connect it to my PC to charge and the strange thing is that my PC recognizes the new device, I am able to browse, but there is no indication that the phone is actually charging.

You might have to get your phone inspected by your Local support

Hi,

I also have this problem and cannot charge anymore since battery drain out. have tried to diferrence cable but the result same. Did not know what exactly the problem. Need help here

Connect the phone to a wall charger > press and hold power & volume up for 10 seconds > let it charge for 3 hours > report back

I believe it wont charge. See attached picture below.

Normally there will be percentage but now it did not show anymore. Plus after few sec, screen goes black and red light off. Ffter few sec again, same picture. Repeating again and again.
