Screen switches orientation

Hi all 

My XZ randomly change it's orientation while I am in landscape mode, a sudden switching to portrait and returning back to landscape which takes less than a second. 

This is really annoying while I'm  watching a video or playing a game.

While this happens the screen contents resizes and rorates and covering only a portion of the it.  

Also the sound fades out and again back during this rotation.  

Screen orientation lock has no effect, also it happens when my phone is not handheld. 

It's running the latest firmware. 

Can you help me please? Anybody experiencing this problem?

Hi @Mosiom, I am sorry to hear about that.

Have you had the chance to test the Gyroscope in Diagnostics? In order to do so, go to Settings > About phone > Diagnostics > Test > Gyroscope, how does it perform here? In addition, could you try to see if the same occurs while in safe mode?

I ran the gyro test both in normal and safe mode and seems ok (shouldn't it prompt something when the so called ball reached the end point?) 

 I didn't detect a rotation in safe mode but the problem was that I could only test that with Album app since other apps and games weren't available in safe mode. 

Back in normal mode the problem is still exists. Is there a way to disable individual apps rather than uninstalling them? 

As a side note that might be helpful, I found that when it happens I also loose the connection to server momentarily and for those who need continuous authenticated connection, a login procedure starts.

It sounds as if it could be related to an app in that case, but unfortunately there is no easy way to troubleshoot which app may be the culprit. In this case, I am sorry to say that the best way would be to uninstall one app at the time until you don't experience the behaviour anymore.
