Hi @April81, welcome to our community!

Do I understand you correctly in that you've purchased an SD card, but still wish to clear up more memory on your internal storage?

I will gladly give you a few tips on how to free up memory on your device, but please note that all of these may not be applicable depending on what you previously have tried.

First, since you mentioned that you have an SD card it would be wise to try to transfer as much data as possible to the SD card. To do so, go to Settings > Storage & memory > Transfer data. You can now mark different categories which you wish to transfer and then proceed by pressing "TRANSFER".

Once all data which can be moved to the SD card has been moved, you can start looking at the internal storage for ways to free up data. For example, in Settings > Storage & memory > Menu (3 dots in the top right) > Advanced > Storage > Internal storage you can see an overview of how much data is stored for each category which is a good indication on where you need to look.

As an example, if you see that the Other category is taking up a lot of data, you can simply press on it to explore the category further. Cached data is also a menu entry under the same Settings path that can take up a lot of space, by pressing the "Cached data" tab you'll be presented with the option to clear all cached data. Note that this will erase all the cached data for your apps, so only do this if you are OK with that. As an alternative if you don't want to delete cached data for all apps, you can enter apps manually and delete the cached data by going to Settings > Apps > App name > Clear cache.

Once you've looked over the storage menu under Settings for an indication of what takes up data, you can move on to clear data for the specific categories.

Another tip I have is that you can try uninstalling apps that you longer need that you've installed yourself, as well as uninstall updates for apps which you don't use by going to Settings > Apps > App name.

I hope those tips helped, feel free to keep me updated! If my post was helpful, you can mark my post as the accepted solution and kudo it so that other users may find it as well! Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi all,

First off, my XA Ultra Dual (F3312) internal storage space is always filling on its own. Every time it reaches 90% I will remove apps. Despite that, it will gradually fill up to 90%+ again and I will remove apps again. The process repeats.

Here's what I've done so far :
1) Remove apps. Never reinstalled or installed new apps

2) Ocassionally cleared out apps data
2) Ocassionally clearing out the cache data

3) Ocassionally transferred media files to SD card

4) Delete FB Data, WeChat and Whatsapp chat data after backing up to cloud.

4) Clean storage of duplicate/obsolete/junk files with SD Maid Pro(Paid App) and CCleaner

5) Bought a 32GB high speed Class 10 UHS-3 (R:90/W:80) Micro SD to set up as adoptive storage to store apps.

None of the above seems to help. Some times I even removed most of the apps except FB, Whatsapp, WeChat and all but the storage just gets filled up in time until I have no more space to work with and are forced to factory reset the phone. Adoptive storage doesn't help either as most of the apps can only be installed into the internal storage.

Can anyone tell me what's taking up all the space in my phone's internal storage?.

Thanks for reading.
