my xperia xa won't get fully charged

For the last couple of days my phone haven't been able to charge up to a 100%. It reaches 80% and then just can't go any further, even after a full night charge.
Have someone encountered the same problem? Any solutions?

P.S: I have had the phone for about a month and a half by now. It's practically new.

I am sorry to hear about your phone.

Do you remember if you installed a new application or updated your phone in the last few days when you started to notice this behaviour?

I would recommend that you start with rebooting your phone in safe mode so we can make sure that a third party application isn't the cause of the phone not being charged to full since all downloaded applications won't be loaded in safe mode.

You can also try charging your phone when it's powered off and see if you are able to charge it to 100% and if you are charging your phone using a wall socket, try charging it using a computer and a USB-port.
