This was quite a shock. I have the XM4 earbuds bought from the UK about 18 months ago. Quite quickly I saw the right earbud seemed to not fully charge and was at around 90% for a long time. Disappointing.
Tonight, just before a week trip for work, I hear a loud pop behind me and I see one of my earbuds (the right one) now outside of the case and the case on its side. I can see that the earbud has broken open and split following what looks like a small explosion.
I am living outside of the UK and am unlikely to be near Currys in the Arndale center for a long time (where I bought them).
How do I go about getting these replaced?

It's a tricky one as you're not in the UK plus am I correct in thinking your warranty has expired?
If so Currys would direct you to Sony.
I will escalate this for you to see what help Sony can offer. (It may take them a few days to contact you.)
