VGN-FW21E power button light indications

hi all. I' am new in the laptop world. I've bought my Sony Vaio VGN-FW21E 3 days ago. And I can't find anything about the light indications on the power button. I've seen green light , red light , green flashing light and red flashing light , but unfortunately I don't know what they mean. Can anyone tell me . Thanks in advance !
