After 1.5 year me vista is gotten a little bit slow on me so I decided to back my data up and do a recovery to factory settings. After choosing a Vaio C drive recovery, all files got deleted and my system started up again. I selected a username, password,... and my system booted back into Vista.
So in step 3 of the recovery process, factory-installed applications get restored.
However, at 72% of this process (100% of installation of Microsoft office trial student teacher edition) the progress stopped.
2 hours have passed and the progress bar is still at this 72%.
Any idea what I can/need to do?
More details on recovery process:
Vaio recovery utility - recover wizard
3. Application recovery - Restore factory-installed applications.
Application recovery 72% (elapsed time 178:40)
Current process
Microsoft office trial student teacher version
Elapsed time: 161:32
With ALT+TAB I saw this window as well:
window - Administrator: C:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe
c:\windows\teamp\varu\temp1\sp-011634-00\bin>
Hi Noneedforanick,
are you using the hidden HDD recovery partition or the created set of recovery disc's to do the recovery..?
I used the recovery partition.
Edit: Had a look at my system this morning (after full night) and it was still on 72%.
Hi Noneedforanick,
try doing a full recovery..
If your unable to do this from within Vista, then restart your Vaio and when you see the Vaio logo press the F10 key repeatedly, this should start the recovery process..
So stopping the current recovery and try again by doing a full one?
I have a few partitions on my HD (recovery, vista, files, linux). Will they get affected by doing a full recovery?

F10 at start-up didn't work. However, I was able to recover my system after a few tries with C drive drecovery.
glad you have managed to recover your vaio..
