hi i just bought a new vaio nr 38e/s it has on board sound and i would like to record what you here,but i can not seem to be able to find it,

Bad news I'm afraid. Sony have disabled the 'Stereo Mix' feature on all Vaios running Vista. Don't ask me why, it is one of Sony's strange decisions to stop piracy.

You have two choices, buy an external soundcard (expensive) or connect your headphone socket to your mic socket (rubbish quality)
