VAIO N38E - memoty upgrade

I've got a Vaio N38E which I want to upgrade the memory in (it currently has only 1GB - 2x512 Mb modules). The Sony website states that the maximum memory for this model is 2Gb. Is this actually true? If possible, I'd like to upgrade it to 4Gb (2x2Gb modules).

Also, does the memory have to be 533Mhz or will faster memory work?

Thanks

Hi DavidinYork,

according to the Technical Specifications and Crucial.com your Vaio’s Ram is upgradable to a maximum of 2048MB..

You're vaio should support both DDR2 PC2-5300 and PC2-4200 speeds.

A large number of Club Vaio members have bought extra RAM from crucial.com as an added benefit from buying from Crucial is their memory compatibility guarantee. To visit Crucial.com use this link: Crucial.com
