URGENT- Making Vaio Desktop- URGENT

Hi everyone, was wondering if anyone clould help me as i am stuck on making my own vaio desktop. I have got the image i like but i need to put on the actual logo itself. Does anyone know any software that i can download or use to do this. Also how would i make only the writing show of the logo, not the whole area of picture. PLEASE REPLY!

P.S. I KNOW MOST PEOPLE FIND THIS OBVIOUS BUT I AM A NEWBIE SO I DONT KNOW MUCH YET

Hi, you can simply use The GIMP
which is a free grafic tool:

put your image into another image and thats all. -> This will create two levels, One with your background and the other one with the Logo.

I already cutted the logo before I have a vektor grafic but I'll send you a pixel image with transparent background.
