My laptop (model PCG-K115M) has 512 MB with two modules of 256 MB SO-DIMM 266Mhz (DDR) each. Recently I decided to upgrade it to its maximum capacity which is 1024 MB. So, I purchased two new modules of 512 MB (model VS512SDS333) that are supposed to be combatible since these are PC2700 DDR1 at 333 MHz. However, when I installed them on my laptop the bios showed only 512 MB of total memory. I've tried them seperately and suprisingly showed me 256 MB instead of 512 MB. I already have the latest advertised BIOS firmware (R0110X1) for my model. Not sure what I'm doing wrong here so I apreciate any help that you can provide me.
Hi dion1979 and welcome to Club Vaio.
We have had this question on a number of occasions. It is always when Corsair modules have been bought to upgrade a Vaio.
I don't think anyone has found a solution - it just appears that the Corsair memory is not compatible with some Vaios.
