TV out using HDMI question

I know my Vaio screen wouldnt show me a full 1080p picture whilst playing a blu-ray because the res is only at 1440x900 but if I was to connect my Vaio to a 1080p TV through HDMI whilst playing a blu-ray will the movie be played on the TV in full 1080p?

Yes, that is what the 1080 sticker means - you can output 1080p to an external display.

I think everyone agrees the sticker is misleading.
