Sony Vaio`s with NVidia chip sets

Hello
What is the situation with Sony vaios with Nvidia chip sets?
My AR21S does not show any problems yet, but you never know.
What happens if you develop a problem out of warrany.
I have just had a hard drive failure after just 20 months.
Any help on this subject would be appreciated.
The quality of Vaio`s notebooks seems to be failing.
Not a happy bunny.
