Several questions about my GRT786M

Hi everyone!

I have had this my notebook for quite a while now. SOme questions have come up:

1. The notebook doesn´t start up when it has been shut off for a while. When I press the Power On button all that happens is that the front lights for power/batteries go on for a second, then turn off again and you can here a light clicking sound from inside. I usually solve the problem by bringing a heating fan and heating the notebook until it reacts again Is there any better solution to the problem?

2. I want to upgrade my ram from 512 to 1024. Sony doesn´t seem to offer any equipment for the GRT series in their online shop for Germany. That might be a good thing because looking at theprices they charge for a ram module i don´t want to buy it there anyway. But now I just don´t know which ram to choose. different sides recommend different types... Did anyone have the same problem and find a solution to it?

3. THE COOLER IS TOO LOUD, SONY!!!! Well I read that some others have had the same problem and there seems to be nothing I can do to solve it 😞

1) Thats a strange problem.....

2) Have you tried ordering the RAM from Crucial in Germany? They're very good

3) It's a desktop CPU so it's gonna be loud.

Crucial in Germany? I think not here is a seller. But it's not problem to order on the Crucial Webside. The only thing which you need is a Creditcard.:smileyrolling_eyes:

You can definately order from Crucial in Germany

Yeah that's true, Kee-Lo. I have tried it. But you need the mystical numbers of a Credit Card. Or you could go in any Computer Shop and ask them if they order it for you.
