No sound through Blu ray player

Hi,
Right problem I have is I have no sound whil playing a normal DVD through the blu ray player (not tried a blu ray disc yet as am miffed there is no sound already!)

The standard windows sounds play when I open Windows Media Centre, however, when I choose the play dvd link the sound stops.

I have the unit plugged into the tv using an HDMI cable but am unsure why this problem occurs and what to do about it?

Please help, althouh be gentle if it is something completely obvious!!

Hi joelosborne and welcome to Club Vaio.

Unfortunately Vista is not clever enough to switch from analogue sound output to HDMI digital sound output. You will need to change this each time you go from HDMI to speakers.
