Hi,
I'm having major problems with my laptop (VGN-AR61M)
Over the past couple of days I've noticed a crackling noise now and then from inside the machine, under teh keyboard. It generally lasts about 1 second then stops. I notice it mostly when online and a website is loading - although it doesn't happen when I open EVERY website.
Sometimes when I put the laptop on it will only work for a few minutes before becoming totally unresponsive. The only thing I'm able to do when this happens is to actually hold the power button in until it turns off.
Does anyone have any ideas what this could be?
I'll probably need to get in touch with Sony Tech Support wont I?!?!
EDIT - I had to keep that short and sweet before it crashed and sure enough it did!
The only way to describe the crackling is compare it to my old desktop computer. Everytime it read from the hard drive it seemed quite loud, that's pretty much what it reminds me of.
Hi dokmh,
I think you are right - it sounds like a case for Vaio Support.
I think you are going to need a repair.
It seemed to only become unresponsive when I was online.
I remember having a problem with the Wireless months ago (amongst other things) and did a complete system restore from the original discs Sony supplied me with. The problems went
I restored the system last night.
Seems fine today.
I'm still gonna get in touch with Tech support though
