a friend of mine just bought the AR61M sony vaio laptop.

everything was ok. we made the recovery disks and then the norton antivirus started working, did a full check everything was fine.
then it connected to the live update to check for updates.when it finished it said that it is has to restart so that the updates to take effect....
when it restarted that is what appears on the screen,,,,

also i think that tha vaio update did smth (an update or smth)

i restarted it 3-4 times but still the same.....

Hmm, that's strage, I'm gussing it's something to do with Norton... But i've personally used Norton for years and yet to see a BSOD on start up because of it.

I think, if you can't find anything to sort out the problem the best thing you could to do is hold F10 when starting the VAIO up and follow the on-screen instructions and do a fresh intall of Windows, as your computer is new it seems you wont lose anyhting in the process. Otherwise, try that. I'm not too sure what else you can do. 😞

i ve contacted with sony vaio support center and they tried to help me, but it was pointless

they told me that it is propably a mechanical isssue and that ishould go to the shop i bought it and have it replaced.
and thank God everything is ok now with the new one..... :smileygrin: :smileygrin: :smileygrin:
