hdd failure vgn 31s/w

hello to all i have the above mentioned vaio which is under a year old for a couple of months now i have heard clicking noises emanating from it.two days ago it blue screened and on turning back on i had a message saying my hdd was about to fail.the hdd is a toshiba mk1034gsx-(s1).i was wondering if anyone else had suffered this problem as i think my hdd has only been viable for the first 6-7 months of its life.

I'm afraid there will always be a few drives that are faulty. It sounds like you have an unlucky one.

Have you contacted Sony Support here: -

Sony Vaio-Link Support

I'm sure they will arrange to have it replaced.

Sorry to say man but a harddrive will always be a harddrive. Even it's sitting in a Sony Vaio. Even if I think you've handled your computer with care remember when a computer is on and the harddrive is spinning it's very, very sensitive.

As Blencogo said contact Vaio Support
