can i upgrade video card on my VGC V3s

Is it possible to upgrade my video card on my vaio desktop. I suspect it is unlikely.

I also wish to upgrade my memory. Do I have to use DDR Ram or can I use DDR 2

Hi grizzle100 and welcome to Club Vaio.

The V-Series use a laptop graphics chip which is part of the main board, so an upgrade is not possible.

The motherboard is designed for DDR memory, so you cannot use DDR2.

Upgrades on these models are limited to increasing the memory to 1024MB and perhaps upgrading the hard disc.

I doubt if you could find one that fits.

Anyway a replacement for the one you have costs $800 (£520).

The V3 is still an excellent media PC but not really upgradable.
