AR31S Tuner not found

1. I cannot search in this forum ... The result is always 0. Cannot be!
2. SONY VAIO AR31S - in MEDIA CENTER Setup TV -> Cannot find TV TUNER 😞

Another new Vista problem!

Has it ever worked or is this an initial setup?

First check that the AverMedia TV Card is installed properly in Device Manager - you should find it in Sound, Video and Games Controllers.

This was common with Windows MCE when Windows Updates didn't always re-register MCE components correctly. The answer was to uninstall the Update or to re-register the Media Centre Components with the servers.

Have a look at THIS THREAD ABOUT THE PROBLEM - I think you will find Solution B should work with Media Centre even in Vista. It involves unregistering and then re-registering the components manually.

There is a downloadable batchfile which does this automatically but I am not sure if the paths to the files are the same in Vista - you need to check the file locations.
