I have been connecting my M2 to my PC to drop music tracks to my SD card. For the past few days PC companion is telling me my phone cannot be found. I've used all the troubleshooter tips IE Uninstalling PC companion, updating phone etc.
The icon appears at the bottom of my pc screen saying Your (null) is connected, but PC companion says No device connected.
Getting very frustrating. Any suggestions please?

Hi
Looks like some antivirus software/ Firewall on your computer is the reason PC Companion is behaving in this way.
Try this, on your phone go to settings > Xperia Connectivity > USB Connectivity > Under USB Connection mode, select MSC mode.
Now connect your phone to PC ( Don't run PC Companion ) and send the songs etc you want to.

Many thanks. This has helped, although not resolved it entirely. I can now connect my phone to my PC. Then by going to devices and printers and selecting android I copy and paste the songs I want. finally I can then change the media transfer mode back to MTP so the tracks show on my memory card.
Nevertheless the advice given has at least allowed me to do what I wanted to do.
Many thanks
Hi,
I got a problem when I tried connecting usb cables from my phones to a computer. When it is connected, there's no USB Icon/USB Debugging on my phone. Only Charging worked.
You have USB debugging enabled? if you do then disable and try or vice versa - Also check your USB connection type like MTP etc
First of all, thanks for replying :smileyhappy:.. but it still doesn't work. theres an error message saying "USB device not recognized".
I'd check your USB cable but also check that you aren't connected to a USB 3.0 port to be sure
it is connected in usb 2.0. is it possible that the usb cables is the problem? because, im using different usb cable but not the one from sony..
As I said above check your USB cable
