Running my X800 through a Denon AV receiver via digital coax.
When playing SACD in 5.1 the sound seems “thin”, ie lacking in bass and any depth.
The player is set to read the SACD layer and set to multichannel, but I am not that impressed.
Any clues anyone?
Recently purchased Depeche Mode - Playing The Angel and the 5.1 DVD sounds so much better than the SACD, yet reading on other forums people rave about the SACD.

The problem turned out to be that I need to replace my amp to one with HDMI inputs for it to work in surround sound.

Hi Dean,
If the player outputs "good" sound with other sources, I don't think the issue is with it. Although trying other SACD's might prove insightful.
