Where is the authorization button!!???

OK ive spent atleast 9 hours trying to get my reader to appear in the left pane of the Reader Library and nothing. I think ive narrowed it down to the fact that I have not been able to authorize the device throught the Reader Store.

All the instructions say the same thing "click on authorization button in the ebook store page of the Reader Library" THERE IS NO SUCH BUTTON!

You're quite right, there is no authorisation button - this does sound very misleading.  The authorisation of your computer and your Reader actually happens as part of the process the first time you buy a copyrighted eBook.

As to why your Reader is not showing up in the left hand pane of Reader Library I must confess I'm not sure, however can I suggest a useful 'getting started' document that I found 'buried' on Sony's website?

You don't say which Reader you have, but there are some quite good generic sections in the guide that cover the software installation, and buying and transferring an eBook for the first time (which also covers the whole Adobe authorisation thing).

If you go to the link below, and type: prs650 into the search box on the Support Centre, then the first thing you should see in the list of search results is a PDF getting started guide for the PRS350/650.  Sections 4, 5 & 6 of this document I hope might help you.

"ebook store" is only available in the States, isn't it ? Unless, of course, you are in the States (!) that might be a problem - and there are - if I remember correctly - 2 versions of the manual , one States & Canada, the other Europe ? Which would give different instructs because of the ebook store ?
