Xperia 1 III and DJI remote (USB connection)?

I recently bought the new Xperia 1 III, which im very happy with, EXCEPT it does not connect to my DJI controller for my drone.

It works flawlessly with my old phone (Xiaomi Pocophone - when first plugging in the cable i got a pop-up etc), but when i plug in the USB cable in my Xperia nothing happens (except that the Xperia's amber notifications light goes on, and the phone seems to be charging).

I have tried messing with the USB settings, turning on USB debugging, changing default USB connection setting, etc, but with no luck!

If it works with an old budget phone i'm sure there is a way to get it to work with a brand new flagship phone....?

HELP!

Have you tried the following:

1- Uninstall DJI Fly App

2 - Delete DJI Folder on your phone

3 - Reboot phone

4 - Install fresh download of DJI Fly App from DJI website vice Play Store

5 - Start DJI Fly App

6 - If the App opens properly then close App

7 - Start RC and connect phone

8 - Open DJI Fly App

9 - If the App opens properly it should connect to the RC

Followed the steps above but no change.

App opens but it is not connecting to the remote. Only charging.

Ok, I'm gonna see if I can source an air 2 to test this.

Might take me few days.

But I gotta check with a device my end as the usb accessory service is active here, but apparently not on yours, which is why it defaults to charging status.

Let me get back to you on this.

Thank you for your effort! 😀

Im using an Air 2S, although i believe several models are using the same remote (?)

Well, sorry for the delay.

Managed to get an air 2 for a few minutes to try the controller on, as with yours, the connection between the two seemed to do nothing except make the charging sound briefly, before doing nothing with the connection.

As it was a friend's Mavic he wasn't too keen on me borrowing it for extended periods to try different firmwares etc, so I will try to see if either next drone FW update, or phone FW update corrects the issue.

When he pops round again (this weekend) I might be able to get some more testing done.

Fwiw, I think the issue is the usb accessory service not correctly detecting the controller as an accessory, and instead seeing it as a computer connection
