Is there a code that i can input into my sky plus hd remote so that i can use it to alter the volume on my receiver. Much appreciated in advance.

Does this help:

Depending upon if your tv supports HDMI-CEC functions,you might need to enable 'control for hdmi' on the AV Receiver too.

Thanks but i have managed to get the code now,if anybody is interested 1786 worked for my sky plus hd.
