KDL-40WE663.</P><P>Last week a message appeared on one third of screen regarding a software update. I had a choice to select : Show Details, Update now, update later. Immediately the remote control would no longer work and so I was unable to select any of the options. Tried tv off and on but message came back. Tried remote on another Sony tv and it works fine. So what to do- Sony have provided. A list of their repairers at my expense! Help the tv is not old, has not been played with by kids and has spent a lot of idle time in a second home that is not let out. Unless there is an answer I shall be buying another new tv.
