can't connect to internet/apps

Hi - I probably know the answer to this but can anyone advise please - I have a KDL-40HX803 which I think is around 10 years old. I am trying to connect it to the internet/iplayer/etc and bought a UWA-BR100 dongle. The set-up went well and the tv does show the network is set-up and working (wireless device, local access, internet access) but it will not connect to the internet (says doesn't recognise server and I've tried but failed to update server list) and also all the apps have disappeared?

Probably juts too old a tv/dongle but does anyone clever out there have any thoughts please?

I believe most apps have been discontinued for this TV (probably since it's a little too old).

Sony does have this handy article showing all the different ways you can get the apps in spite of the TV being old.
