ALPS POINTING DEVICE UPDATE/DRIVER for windows 8

I have a SONY VAIO VGN-FW21L.

I have now upgraded it to windows 8

The sliding ( up down ) function of the touchpad has been lost.

Can someone give me a link with with the correct driver for this model ? I believe it is called alls pointing device.

I found that some people had similar problems with windows 7, I am looking specifically for cases suitable for windows 8

Sony is not providing windows 8 support for this model but you could try this driver verison 8.100.2020.112 (Windows 8 32/64-bit) released by Gateway.

Hopefully they will install but otherwise some tinkering with the .Inf files may be required.
