Battery vgp-bps2c on Sony Vaio VGN-FE41Z

Hello,

My laptop informs me that no battery is detected.

Does this mean that the battery is dead or is there a solution to get it working again? I have only had the computer 1 year so I can't believe that the battery has become defunct so quickly!

Any advice?

A simple way to check if this is a battery or possible hardware problem is to take your Vaio to a local stockist and ask if you can try another FE's battery in your Vaio..

Thanks for your reply. I suppose it doesn't matter what model of Sony Vaio laptop's battery I use as long as the battery itself is the same model as mine. Unfortunately we don't have FEs for sale in Switzerland and I bought mine in the UK. Shall it give it a try, and many thanks.

Hi Blabby,

1) What is indicating the battery led right now? blinking - led is off?
2) Was your battery lifetime gradually reduced till 5-10 minutes or less when charged @ 100%?
3) Battery couldn't charge till 50%
4) Battery was detected and one day unexpectedly undetected?
5) Is it OEM OS (Windows from factory)?

=> if answer is yes, sorry but you need a new battery ...

I have got a vaio pcg c2m also with the "no battery is detected" problem.
I bought it via Amazon and live in Denmark which make it difficult to go to a sony dealer.
I also have a vaio vgn fz31z can i try that battery
If the battery is defect what can i do

welcome to Club VAIO..

I believe the FZ battery is different to the one used in the C2 series..

The C2 series shares the same battery as the VAIO S,SZ,FE,FS,FJ,N and AR Series, hopefully a local stockist in your are has one you can try in your C2..

The battery in your Vaio is covered by a 6 months warranty and I suspect your Vaio is past that now, therefore if the battery has failed I'm afraid you'll have to purchase a replacement..
