Is my hard drive dying?

Hey guys

When I go into admin tools and event viewer...It is full of error messages as follows..

The driver detected a controller error on Device\harddisk2\DR2 And sometimes I am getting the blue crash screen come up. Im running Windows Vista

Hi Matthew,

If this worked ok before then i would suggest to do a system restore back to when it was working.

Im afraid if this doesn't work you will need to preform a recovery.

You can do this by pressing F10 on boot up but make sure all data is backed up before doing this

Hi Matthew,

What model Vaio do you have?

I would be tempted to keep your backups up to date and just ignore it!

It is not clear what drive it refers to as it is not necessarily your hard drive - could be Hard Drive, DVD Drive, Memory Stick or SD Drive.

What is the error message on the blue screen?
