PCG-TR2S, restoration CDs wanted !

Hi all,

My son has been offered his cousin's old PCG-TR2S and yet - as you might expect - the restoration CDs were not included in the package... :smileygrin:

Serial number is 28****** 74***** but I've just been on http://support.vaio.sony and the model is not recognized there.

Anyway I've managed to download a user's manual for PCG-TR and it states CDs actually were supplied when the machine was bought - in Taiwan, incidently.

Where can I get those CDs ??? They are badly needed...

Hi JCB,

What is installed on the TR2 at the moment? What language is the current XP and what language do you want to install.

I doubt if you will get a copy of the original Recovery CDs as the Vaio is a far eastern model and you will probably have to install a retail copy of XP on the Vaio and install the Sony specific drivers and utilities for the TR2MP from here: -

The original discs will be both model specific and language specific - you may be lucky on eBay?
