Last year this point was raised and it wasn't possible due to space and heat constraints. Have Sony moved on Yet?

Noted theres now a search facility on here. its about time.

Improving the Ram would be good any idea. How much sony will rip me off for it? I understand these machines have to go back to Sony for upgrades.

Looked at Crucial.com I can upgrade to 2048MB of RAM as the standard V1 has 512MB in on slot and there are 2 slots in the machine.

More interestingly the scan suggested that the VI canAccept Four graphics cards that they produce CTVX700AGP256MB @ 108.09 inc VAT or CTVX800PRO256MB @ £186.81 inc Vat

Even cheaper was CTV9250128MB at only £27.01 which is better than the one currently installed.

No one has answered whther I have to send my machine back to sony. For upgrades is this still the case?:smileyconfused:

No, you do the upgrades yourself, Sony don't fit RAM for you, if they did they'd charge you a small packet

It seems that the V series is one of the few Vaio’s that Sony actually say “do not install memory modules yourself (user guide).:smileyconfused:
