topic Loud Fan in PCs & Accessories

I have a Sony Vaio VGC-LN1M desktop and was wondering why the fan is so loud when first switching it on after several hours of rest? If I shut down my computer, leave it for a few seconds and then switch it on, it doesn't make that sound. But if I switch it off before I go to bed, wake up and switch it on, the fan sounds really loud for about 10 seconds when switching the PC on.
