VAIO Recovery center error! urgent.

hi i have just purchased Vaio VPC Series and the previous own because the windows product key had rubbed off has installed and acer version of windows 7! and is only on the trial 30days. is there anyway to restore this back to factory with the original licence? i have tried the recovery bout it just comes up with ' Cannot use this recovery disc for this computer confirm the model type error: 114 . i have phoned sony went through loads of diffrent things checking the boot etc, but could not work it out!. please help regards...

Hi paulmsx and welcome.

Can you give us the full model? It should be printed on the screen surround and will start VPC******.

Does your model have an ASSIST button above the keyboard? If it does, try turning off the Vaio completely and then press the ASSIST button. Does Vaio Care Rescue Mode open?

If not, the previous owner may have overwritten the recovery software and you will need to buy a set of replacement discs from Vaio Support.
